In order to reconstruct an image it must first be deconstructed. In the work presented here deconstruction is made possible by application of image segmentation algorithms.

The robot animation above, for example, shows a segmentation into 261 segments. The animation also reveals how a set of segments can be re-arranged from a coherent image into an abstract composition.

A limitless number of arrangements is possible, so creating these works requires judicious selection of elements and a keen awareness of composition.
